"The Overture to Your Evening" 

Saturday October 21, 2017 at 7 p.m.

Maestro Williams and the Alton Symphony Orchestra open their 73rd season with several famous overtures. Join us to hear the familiar sounds of the Egmont Overture by Beethoven, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Russian Easter Overture, Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, and Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld.

"A Sleigh Ride Holiday"

Saturday December 9, 2017 at 7 p.m.

What would a sleigh ride holiday be without Sleigh Ride and Christmas Festival by Anderson? Kick off the holiday season with us as we invite dancers from The Creative Dance Studio to join us on stage performing selections from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite. There will be a special performance by our Deborah Fox Guild Winner. During intermission we will present ASO’s Holiday Basket Silent Auction.

"Tribute to America"

Sunday February 25, 2018 at 3 p.m.

Join in our tribute to America with two pieces by two different Bernsteins, Theme from the Magnificent Seven by Elmer Bernstein and West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein. Get jazzy with St. Louis Blues by Handy, and patriotic with Variations on America by Ives, and Salute to the Armed Forces.  There will be a special performance by our Marie Stillwell Young Artist Winner.



Sunday April 15, 2018 at 3 p.m.

Join us for our second annual “Amen!” concert! This concert experience designed to combine the orchestra with the voices of our audience as we sing hymns that have survived numerous generations and have brought peace and hope to so many. So bring your family and friends and sing along with the Alton Symphony Orchestra!


"A Foreign Flavor"

Saturday April 21, 2018 at 7 p.m.

We will conclude our 73rd season by taking you musically around the world. From the Hebrides Overture by Mendelssohn to the Gaelic Symphony by Beach you will feel as if you’ve been transported foreign land! Dance along to the ever popular Irish Suite by Anderson, Norwegian Dances by Grieg, and Hungarian Dances by Brahms.
